Performance Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to accomplish the following:

  • Identify database concepts and terminology to become familiar with the Microsoft Access database management system
  • Use the Find command and edit, add, and delete records in Datasheet View
  • Adjust datasheet columns to enhance ease of use, and modify individual records
  • Find and replace specific data and filter records within forms
  • Create simple queries that analyze data, and query two or more tables to compile information
  • Create Select Queries to view ranges of data and locate records containing specific or missing information
  • Use Boolean operators to create complex Select Queries and perform simple calculations on numeric data within a query
  • Create and customize reports to enhance data clarity, and create labels for multiple uses
